Eguzon - A country holiday resort complete with lakes, beaches and water sports.

 Eguzon offers a charming and peaceful landscape, with its calm lakes, lively rivers and transparent cool streams. There are numerous sites for leisure and sporting activities around the Lac d' Eguzon including swimming, sailing, waterskiing, water toboggans, canoeing, sail boarding, climbing, archery, mountain-biking, hiking, fishing, tennis, horse riding, etc. There are numerous restaurants and bars, providing great food and wine.

Lac d'Eguzon

The lake formed by the Eguzon Dam, with an area of approximately 77 acres (312 hectares) is the largest stretch of water in the region "Centre". It is also the deepest one being 65 metres at its greatest depth.

When the lake was formed in 1926, several mills, a part of Chambon village and the bridge linking Chambon with Fougères  were submerged. When the lake was emptied, the last time was in 1988, ghostly remains of houses could still be seen. The bridge in under 20 metres of water is still perfectly preserved.
