If you are searching for very reasonably priced holiday accommodation then we hope that one of our two gites is just for you. The Bread oven sleeps up to 4 people and starts at 40€ per night or 150€ per week. La Maison sleeps up to 8 people and starts at 300€ per week.
We are an English family who now live in France and will be close by for help and advice during your stay.
Our location is right in the centre of France, between the Berry and the Limousin, in the beautiful village of Badecon-Le-pin, on the edge of the Brenne Natural Park. The region has something for everyone. The medieval villages of Saint Benoit Du Sault, Gargilesse, Dampierre and Argenton Sur Creuse are all close by, while away some time strolling around their narrow streets and discover the history of the area.
The Bread oven
A traditional bread oven and small barn, beautifully converted into a welcoming gite, with many quaint features. It offers a spacious double bedroom, a lounge, modern bathroom with a good sized kitchen and dinning area. It sleeps 2 people comfortably, but can sleep 4 people if you choose to utilise the bed settee in the lounge area.
La Maison
A spacious family home with modern facilities, maintaining many traditional features. The house comprises of a modern kitchen with all equipment, including, fridge freezer and full-size cooker. A modern bathroom with a high powered shower, three double bedrooms and a large living room with an original tiled floor and magnificent oak beams. It sleeps 6 people comfortably, but can sleep 8 people if you choose to utilise the bed settee in the lounge area.
If you are looking for a long term rental whilst house hunting, working or just trying out the area then we can offer our gite at a discounted rate (usually out of season). We can arrange a permanent ADSL connection for your laptop or PC or you can hire from us for 30 euros per week. This will be invaluable for property searching and for emails and cheap telephone calls home. Please email for more details.
There are numerous leisure activities in the area, including, swimming (pool, river and lakes with beaches), climbing, walking (randonnée), canoeing, boating, mountain-biking, bird watching (twitching), tennis, golf, hiking opportunities, the Centre region also offers a whole range of tracks suitable for cycling and horse-riding. Fishing is evident everywhere, mainly in the Brenne National ParK (La Parc Naturel Brenne) known as the land of a 1000 lakes. Also worth a visit is The Centre de Plein-Air at Lathus, it offers everything from shooting to a circus school. With mountain biking , kayaking, horse riding, archery, archaeology, abseiling, caving, fishing and walking. (Please see the things to do menu).
The lakes and beaches at Eguzon are just 10 minutes away which provides all types of water sports and leisure activities. The magnificent archaeological site at Argentomagus transports you back to ancient times, taking you on a journey from stone age to roman. Chateaux, cathedrals and monuments are abundant in the area.
The larger towns of Chateauroux, Bourges, La Chatre and Le Blanc provide regional shopping on a larger scale, with Poitiers, Limoges and Gueret offering even more great days out.
